Update
 Thanks to John, Alan, Lidia, Douglas, Mark, David and Roger we had two good delivery sessions and picked up a number of pledges in Shepley and Skelmanthorpe. It was a nice end to another busy week.

Simon headed off to Norwich North for the By-Election. It is always interesting to see how a by-election is run as the whole party swings behind one seat.

Campaigned in Dewsbury town centre on Saturday morning. This gave us a real presence in Foundry Street and in the market. In the afternoon canvassed in Shaw Cross.

In the morning Louise and Simon were out collecting for the RNLI. They do this every year for some of the bravest people you will ever meet. Delivered in Mirfield in the afternoon. We got to 900 homes and it was great to meet and speak to so many people.

Simon met a local Mirfield business man - Abid. Simon and Louise spent the evening in Mirfield and Dewsbury and Abid is going to be a real asset to the team. (He runs the Paradise Take Away in Mirfield and I recommend the Tandoori Special Pizza!) Time for a drink in the Old Colonial afterwards!

Lunch in Kirkburton organised by Norman and Hilary Berry. This was well supported with 40 or so members and supporters and Simon gave a short speech about his route into politics and the importance of winning the seat.

Two delivery teams and a canvassing team allowed us to cover the entire village of Skelmanthorpe and get across our message about a Conservative alternative to the Local Development Framework and identified 115 pledges.

Louise and Simon went with Jim Dodds and his family to a fundraising evening at the Pakistani and Kashmiri Welfare Association. This was to raise money for those displaced by the fighting in the Swat Valley.
